Dear Stapleton families and friends:
It is with great joy that I write to you with an exciting announcement. A few weeks ago we came to terms on a long-term lease for a new home for our school. The building, at 70 Greenfield Avenue, is steps away from our main studio and allows us to remain in our hometown of San Anselmo for the next twenty years and beyond.
This has been a ten year dream of mine, and staff, to find a building in this area. The location and space are perfect…no more satellite studios! The building is over 9,000 square feet and will allow the talented actors and dancers to have all of their classes, programs, and rehearsals in one location.
The architect’s plans call for six studios, with over 5,500 square feet of dedicated studio space – a 55% increase over our two current locations! We will have spacious dressing rooms and seating nooks, costume and prop storage, a large waiting room, and ample restroom facilities as well as proper administrative offices and staff room.
The location is ideal, as it will continue to allow students to arrive by bus for their after school classes. I could not have envisioned a more perfect solution to the dilemma we faced when told that our current building was being sold. This expansive warehouse offers a blank slate where we will create a beautiful state of the art performing arts center for our community and the ballet training facility our students so richly deserve.
There is much work to be done and it will take “a village” to complete this exciting project. Our lease at 118 Greenfield ends on July 31st and we need to begin construction at 70 Greenfield very soon. I hope that you are as excited about what this means for our community as I am!
I’ll be reaching out to ask for your financial support and hope you will consider a meaningful gift to help us create a new home for our talented students.
In the meantime, if you want to get involved in helping make this project a reality, please get in touch with Sharon Burns at email@example.com. We need hands-on help and vitally need ways to raise money…more than we already have to start the initial phase of construction. With your help, we look forward to celebrating the opening of our beautiful, spacious new home next summer.
